Can a Jewish person be saved by keeping the feast days?
A Jewish person cannot be saved by keeping the feast days. Jew and Gentile are both unworthy and without hope, and a Jew must be saved the same way Gentiles are today—by grace, not works. The Jewish feasts are pictures, but salvation is all of grace.
Les explains that for these Jews it is no different than for Gentiles. Paul says in Romans 3 and 6 that there is no difference: a Jew does not come in on a different level or a lower level. All are unworthy and without hope, Jew and Gentile. So a Jew has to be saved the same way Gentiles are today. If it is by grace, that gospel by which we are saved, then it is no more of works. Even Jewish people must understand that if they are going to be saved by this gospel of grace, they have to drop all their works religion of Judaism. As beautiful as their ceremonies may be—their Passover service is a beautiful picture of the whole program of grace, and many feast days are beautiful pictures of our doctrine of grace—they are not going to be saved by keeping those Jewish feast celebrations. They have to come away from that and realize it is not by works, not by keeping any feast days, but it is all of grace. There can be no works for a Jew any more than for a Gentile. As verse 6 says, if it is of works, then it is no more grace, otherwise work is no more work.
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
