Does a Jewish person get saved differently from a Gentile?
No. A Jewish person is not saved on a different level from a Gentile. Both are unworthy and without hope, and a Jew must be saved the same way Gentiles are today: by grace through the gospel, not by works or Jewish feast celebrations. Salvation is all of grace, never by works or ceremonies.
Les teaches that for these Jews it is no different than for Gentiles. He points back to Romans chapter 3 and chapter 6, where Paul says there is no difference: a Jew does not come in on a different level or a lower level. All are unworthy and without hope, Jew and Gentile. Therefore a Jew has to be saved the same way Gentiles are today. If it is by grace, it is no more of works. Even Jewish people must understand that if they are going to be saved by this gospel of grace, they have to drop all their works religion of Judaism. Their ceremonies, including the Passover service and feast days, are beautiful pictures of the program and doctrine of grace, but they are not saved by keeping those Jewish feast celebrations. They must come away from that and realize it is not by works or feast days but all of grace. There can be no works for a Jew any more than for a Gentile, because if it is of works, then it is no more grace; otherwise work is no more work. Les says it sounds like double talk, but it isn’t.
