When should you share the hope of your faith?

Paul teaches that believers should be ready to share the hope of their faith whenever the Lord provides an opportunity or someone gives an opening, perhaps by just a word or two. They should not force it on anyone or try to shove it down people's throats, because that will not work.

Les explains that people readily brag about a good car because it means something to them, yet believers should similarly let others know what salvation means to them. He hopes they can talk about the Lord as easily as the weather, because it has become that big a part of them. Paul says that if Jesus is Lord, believers should be ready to share it with anyone who will listen. Les does not favor forcing anything or grabbing people by the nap of the neck to shove it down their throats; that won't work. Instead, when the Lord gives an opportunity and someone gives an opening, even just a word or two, be ready as Scripture says to give the hope of your faith. The gospel is that Christ died, was buried, and rose again; believing God raised Him from the dead brings the promise, “Thou shalt be saved.”
