What does it mean that the word is nigh thee in Romans 10:8?

It means the Word of God is near every human being and available to be taken by faith. Paul says it is even in your mouth—the word of faith, not works or legalism. People refuse it because they reject the light that exposes them, but the Word remains near and available.

Les explains that Romans 10:8 is not a casual statement or mere words to fill a page; it means what it says. The Word is nigh every human being, and it is there for the taking. Paul says it is even in your mouth—the Word of faith, not works, not legalism, but belief. People do not take it because they refuse to step into the light, since the light reveals what they are really made of, and they do not want to see or hear. They reject the light to their own doom. Yet Christ tasted death for every man, and Paul says in II Corinthians 5 that the love of Christ constraineth us, because if He died for all, then all were dead.
