What is the word of faith Paul speaks of in Romans 10:8?

In Romans 10:8 Paul identifies the word of faith as the word that is nigh thee, even in thy mouth. It is not works or legalism but the Word of faith, calling for belief. God has placed it near every person, available for the taking.

Les explains that Romans 10:8 is not a casual statement or words to fill a page; it means what it says. The Word is nigh every human being, and it is there for the taking. Paul says the word is in your mouth, and that is the Word of faith—not works, not legalism—so the emphasis is believe, believe, believe. Les also notes that people reject the light because it exposes what they are really made of; they refuse to step into it, but to their own doom. Yet Christ tasted death for every man, and II Corinthians 5 says the love of Christ constraineth us, because if He died for all, then all were dead.
