Why does the age of grace have nothing to do with the Law?

The age of grace has nothing to do with the Law because everything was accomplished at the cross and that was all settled there, as Colossians says He took them and nailed them to His cross. Jew and Gentile are alike—both under sin and needing salvation—so salvation is offered on the same level, not through Law.

Les explains that Romans 10 deals with Israel in this present dispensation, and Paul made plain in Romans 3 that since everything was accomplished at the cross and the message goes out to the Gentile world, there is no difference. A Jew does not have to give up his Jewishness, but he must separate himself from the Old Testament economy. This is the whole idea of the age of grace: we have nothing to do with Law, because it was all settled at the cross. Les points to Colossians, where He took them and nailed them to His cross. Therefore Jew and Gentile are both alike, all under sin and in need of salvation, so salvation is now offered on the same level playing field.
