Are the Jews still God's chosen people even though they are in unbelief?
The Jewish people are still God's chosen people even while they are in unbelief. They are spiritually blinded for the most part, but God has not given up on them. Their covenant status remains, and God's dealings with them continue.
Les teaches that God has not cast off His covenant people. The Jew is still God's chosen people even though they are out there in unbelief and are spiritually blinded for the most part, yet God has not given up on them. To reinforce this, Les reads a quote from Francis L. Patton, president of Princeton University from 1888 to 1902, who said the only hope of Christianity is in the rehabilitating of the Pauline theology. Patton insisted it is back to an incarnate Christ and the atoning blood, or on to atheism and despair. Israel's unbelief does not cancel God's covenant commitment.
