Can people be religious and base their beliefs on the Bible yet still not know who Jesus is?

Les teaches that there is a world full of religion, and even in Western cultures much of it is based on this book, yet people can be totally ignorant of who Jesus Christ really is. He explains that when a lost person is drawn before the great white throne, they will be speechless, regardless of how many other gods they promoted or how much religion they practiced, because they refused to recognize who He really is. Les also recalls a home Bible class with people from various denominations; when he stated that Jesus Christ was the Creator of Genesis 1, mouths dropped all over the room because they had never heard it. Later, several asked if he was sure. The more one gets into this book, the more convinced one becomes that the One who hung on the Roman cross created the wood of that cross, the mount on which it was planted, and all the hosts of heaven.
