If the Law was given only to Israel, who does it cover?
The Law was given exclusively to the nation of Israel, not to the Gentiles. Yet as Romans chapter 3 shows, even though the Law was given to Israel, it covers the whole human race. The Law as such was given only to Israel, but its coverage extends to all humanity.
Les explains that the Law was never given to the Gentiles; it was given to the nation of Israel alone. It included the Ten Commandments, the rituals, regulations, civil law, and the ecclesiastical stipulations for the priesthood, along with instructions for the tabernacle. That was all part of Israel's heritage. Yet, as Les points out from Romans chapter 3, even though the Law was given to Israel, it covers the whole human race. The Law as such was still given only to Israel, and that distinction should never be lost sight of.
