Was the law given only to Israel, or to everyone?
The law was given to Israel, absolutely, but it was also for the whole human race. Israel receives it as chapter 20 opens, and Romans 3:20-21 is cited for further study. That does not mean, however, that all the world may become saved.
Les explains that as the next chapter 20 is approached, Israel is going to receive the law. He stresses that the law was given to Israel, absolutely, but it was also for the whole human race. He asks listeners to refer to Romans 3:20 and 21 after the program, or to look it up at home after watching, for further study. He adds the qualification that this does not mean all the world may become saved. The surrounding context describes Israel's long dispersion, her regathering in our generation, and God's covenant promises still to be fulfilled with His covenant people. It also notes the world rushing toward an end-time scenario and Israel being squeezed tighter.
