Where did the Jewish nation come from according to Genesis?
According to Genesis, the Jewish nation came from the 12 sons of Jacob. God promised Jacob that in Egypt He would make of Jacob and those 12 sons a nation of people, and that is where the Jewish nation came from, out of those 12 sons.
Les explains that the Jewish nation originated from the 12 sons of Jacob. He points out that Genesis records God's promise to Jacob when Jacob went down into Egypt: there God would make of Jacob and those 12 sons a nation of people. Les says that is where the Jewish nation came from, out of those 12 sons. Later, Moses was sent to lead this people out of Egypt, and God would work with this little nation to prepare them for the coming of the Messiah.
