Why didn't God spare His Son?
The Father had foreordained before creation that Christ would go to the cross and die for the sins of mankind. It was not a loss of control but His predetermined plan. God could have put an end to it, but He did not; Christ did die, and the Gospel is that Christ died, was buried, and rose again.

God could have spared His Son and just put an end to all of it, but He didn't, because He had foreordained that He had to die for the sins of mankind, and He did die.
