When will believers receive their new body?
Believers will receive their new body at the final redemption of the body, when the purchased possession is redeemed. The Holy Spirit's sealing is the earnest, the down payment, of the inheritance until that day. Then believers will be a complete entity, ready to go into all eternity.
Les explains that the day is coming when we will have a new body, and it is part of the complete redemption described in Ephesians 1. In Ephesians 1:14, the sealing of the Holy Spirit is the earnest, the down payment, of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. He notes that while the soul and spirit have already been redeemed, what is waiting is the redemption of the body. Turning to Romans 8, Paul says everything is moving to the day when we will have that final redemption of the body. Then we will be a complete entity, ready to go into all eternity.
