When will believers receive a new body as part of complete redemption?
Believers will receive a new body in a future day when the redemption of the purchased possession occurs. Their soul and spirit are already redeemed, but the body awaits that final redemption. At that time they will become a complete entity, ready to enter all eternity.
Les teaches that the day is coming when believers will have a new body, and this is part of the complete redemption described in Ephesians chapter 1. The sealing of the Holy Spirit is the earnest, the down payment, of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. He explains that while God has already redeemed the soul and spirit, what is still waiting is the redemption of the body. Paul likewise says in Romans chapter 8 that everything is moving toward the day when we will have that final redemption of the body. Then believers will be a complete entity, ready to go into all eternity.
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
