Les Feldick Bible Study

When do believers get a new body and how does it fit into complete redemption?

Believers receive a new body at the future redemption of the body, when the purchased possession is fully redeemed. This is the final stage of complete redemption: the soul and spirit are already redeemed, but the body awaits that day, after which believers become a complete entity ready for eternity.

Les teaches that the day is coming when believers will have a new body, and this is part of the complete redemption described in Ephesians chapter 1. In Ephesians 1:14, the sealing of the Holy Spirit is the earnest, or down payment, of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. He explains that God has already redeemed the soul and spirit, but what is still waiting is the redemption of the body. Paul says in Romans chapter 8 that everything is moving to the day when believers will have that final redemption of the body. Then they will be a complete entity, ready to go into all eternity.

Ephesians 1:14

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
