Why will no one hurt or destroy in God's holy mountain?
The earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as waters cover the sea. When the curse is lifted, creation is restored: predators and prey feed together, children play safely among formerly dangerous creatures, and fear and destruction cease.
Les teaches that this peace follows the lifting of the curse. Under the curse, predators target the young and vulnerable; documentaries show leopards and cheetahs picking on baby animals. But in God's holy mountain, the leopard lies down with the kid, calf, young lion, and fatling pasture together, a little child leads them, cows and bears feed together, and their young lie down together. The lion eats straw or forage like a cow. Even a nursing child can play over the hole of the poisonous asp, and a weaned child can put his hand on a cockatrice's den with no fear. Verse 9 says they shall not hurt nor destroy in all God's holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Les ties this to Romans 8, where the whole creation groans and travails in pain until now, looking forward to the day the curse is lifted, when Christ intervenes and sets things straight; believers with the firstfruits of the Spirit eagerly await His coming, while unbelievers shrink from it.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
