What does God do the moment you believe and are saved?
The moment a sinner believes, God does everything else needed for salvation. He imputes righteousness, forgives, cleanses, and baptizes the believer into the body. Salvation is that all-inclusive work, and the believer knows it was done by faith, not by feeling or sight, because the book says so.
Les explains that salvation is the all-inclusive word that implies everything God does on behalf of the believer who cries out, “I’m a sinner, I’m in need of salvation, I believe that Christ died for me.” At that point God does everything else. He imputes righteousness, He forgives, He cleanses, He baptizes the believer into the body, and He does everything that needs to be done. How do we know He did it? By faith. Les says you will not feel or see those things, but you will know He did them because the book says so. He also stresses that the Gospel, not church membership, baptism, or a work, is the power of God unto salvation.
