What does the Holy Spirit do the moment you believe the gospel and are saved?
The moment a person believes the gospel and is saved, God seals that believer with the Holy Spirit of promise. The Holy Spirit then indwells the believer, empowers the believer, and keeps the believer. This occurs after believing, plus nothing, and is tied to being born again and made alive.
Les teaches that salvation comes by trusting and believing the gospel, not by baptism, and that after a person believes, God seals him with the Holy Spirit of promise. Paul explains throughout his epistles that the moment we believe the gospel or are saved and are born again, the Holy Spirit indwells us, empowers us, and keeps us. In Ephesians 2, Paul also describes believers as having been quickened, or made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.
