Why do people in my own church think I'm strange since I started studying the Bible?
Your own church people sense that you are different because you have gained a knowledge of the Word they do not have, so they feel you are odd. Scripture says the world does not know believers because it did not know the Lord Jesus.
Les explains that when a believer begins studying the Bible, their own church people will begin to sense that they are different. They see that the believer has somehow gained a knowledge of the Word that they do not have, and consequently they feel the believer is kind of odd. But Les says the truth of the matter is that they are the ones who are a little odd, because they do not know what the Book says. This fits the principle that the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not, that is, the Lord Jesus.
