Why do church people think a believer is odd after gaining knowledge of the Word?
Church people sense a believer is different because that believer has gained a knowledge of the Word they do not possess; lacking that same understanding, they perceive the believer as odd. In truth, they are the ones somewhat odd, since they do not know what the Book says.
Les explains that once a believer gains knowledge of the Word, their own church people begin to sense that they are different. The believer has somehow gained a knowledge of the Word that they do not have, so consequently they feel the believer is kind of odd. But the truth of the matter, Les says, is that they are the ones who are a little odd, because they do not know what the Book says. This connects with the world not knowing us because it did not know the Lord Jesus.
