Why does a believer's whole desire begin to change?

A believer’s whole desire begins to change because becoming a believer places them in a totally different world: old things have passed away and all things have become new. The Holy Spirit dwells in them, so they are not in the flesh under old Adam but in the Spirit under His control.

Les teaches that when a person becomes a believer, the whole circle of friendships will probably change, and the whole desire begins to change, as it should be, because it is two different worlds, totally two different worlds. This does not mean being so heavenly minded as to be no earthly good; believers still function, work, and plan. There is nothing wrong with accumulating wealth or an estate if it is in God’s timetable and plan for your life. The change rests on the truth that “all things are passed away, and behold, all things are become new.” Romans chapter 8, verse 9 says you are not in the flesh, not under old Adam, but in the Spirit, under His control, conditional if the Holy Spirit is dwelling in you.
