Do Christians still commit everyday sins?
Yes. Believers still commit everyday sins. Although the secure believer does not want to fall or sin, they know they could. Christians are guilty of the mundane sins of everyday living and thoughts, and they remain safe in Christ, not free to do whatever they want.
Les teaches that grace is not license, so security in Christ does not mean believers are free to do whatever they want. Believers live in constant awareness that they do not want to fall or commit sin, but they are commonsensical enough to know they could. Les says he hopes never to fall into any great sin, yet all are guilty of the mundane sins of everyday living or thoughts. He illustrates this with David, a believer who fell into great sin—adultery with Bathsheba and murdering Uriah—but did not lose his salvation. David begged for forgiveness, and his conviction showed he was a true child of God.
