What is Satan trying to do to believers and nonbelievers?

Satan uses his authority to frustrate believers' lives and to keep the lost in darkness. He opposes God's people and keeps unbelievers in darkness until God breaks his power. Yet nothing created, demonic or angelic, can separate believers from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Les explains that Ephesians says we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers whose authority is Satan. Satan is doing everything he can to frustrate the life of believers and to keep lost humanity in darkness, and he has power until God breaks it. Les emphasizes that God opens hearts and by the working of the Holy Spirit gives understanding. Romans 8 assures that neither principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature—nothing created, whether demonic or righteous angelic—can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
