Les Feldick Bible Study

When can we stand on the promise that we are dead to the old Adam?

We can stand on that promise when we have truly entered into the salvation experience by faith, without any merit of our own. Then, being in Christ and hid in God, we are dead to the old Adam, and nothing can touch us.

Les explains from Colossians 3:3 that in the old Adamic state we are dead, and our life is hid with Christ in God, where God and Christ are one and the same in reality. He connects this with Romans 8:1, that there is now no condemnation to those in Christ. When we are in Christ, we are hid in God and wrapped up in the Godhead, so nothing can touch us. Jesus put it simply: no one can pluck them out of my hand. Les says if we have truly entered into this salvation experience by faith without any merit of our own, then we can stand on this promise that indeed we are dead to the old Adam. Christ is now our whole life, and when He shall appear, we shall also appear with Him in glory.

Colossians 3:3

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:4

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
