Les Feldick Bible Study

What qualifies a person to stand on the promise that they are dead to the old Adam and that Christ is their whole life?

A person qualifies by truly entering the salvation experience through faith, without any merit of their own. That salvation makes them dead to the old Adam, hides their life with Christ in God, and lets them stand on the promise that Christ is their whole life.

Les explains that Colossians 3:3 says believers are dead in their old Adamic state, and their life is hid with Christ in God. Because God and Christ are one, those in Christ are wrapped up in the Godhead, and nothing can touch them. Jesus put it simply: no one can pluck them out of His hand. Les emphasizes that if we have truly entered into the salvation experience by faith without any merit of our own, then we can stand on this promise that we are dead to the old Adam and Christ is our whole life. Verse 4 adds that when He shall appear, we also will appear with Him in glory.

Colossians 3:3

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:4

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
