Why does Satan attack more when I try to please God?
Satan attacks more because he opposes any good that pleases God. Scripture describes a law: when you would do good, evil is present. The more you try to please the Lord, the more Satan attacks, since the adversary dislikes what believers are doing and opposed Paul's glorious attempts for God.
Les teaches that this is a fact of life you cannot get around: when you would do good, evil is present with you. Every believer experiences it. The more you try to do what is pleasing to the Lord, the more Satan is going to attack. Les says he pleads with his television audience and class people because the teaching is penetrating places Satan does not want it to go, and he lives in constant fear of satanic attack. His only protection, he knows, is the prayers of the saints. He is thrilled when people write that they pray for him and Iris, but believers need prayer too. Therefore, believers must constantly pray for one another because they are up against an adversary who does not like anything they are doing. Les has noticed Satan attacking people influential in getting the program going; so far God has protected them. Paul faced the same opposition: whenever he attempted something glorious for God, the devil opposed him.
