Les Feldick Bible Study

Does God want believers to get discouraged or give up when they see the unsaved world?

No. God is not willing that believers become frustrated, discouraged, or give up when considering the unsaved world. Although temptation to do so exists, believers should recognize what they are up against: an unconcerned world living only for today and tomorrow with no thought for eternity.

Les explains that God is not willing that we get frustrated, discouraged, or give up, and he admits he is as tempted as anyone at times. He points to 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 to show the dilemma the world is in and what believers are up against. The unsaved world is described as unconcerned, living only for today and maybe tomorrow, with no thought for eternity. Recognizing their problem helps believers avoid discouragement as they commiserate with them.
