Does God kick a believer out when he fails after he is saved?
No. When a believer who is walking under the Holy Spirit's power and trying to please God in light of Scripture fails, God does not cast him out. The same grace that saved him keeps him, because believers stand blameless before God by His unmerited favor, not by deserving it.
Les teaches that salvation is by God's grace, and that the same grace keeps those who are His even though none of us deserve to stay saved. He clarifies that grace is not license and does not tell the believer to go out and do what he pleases. But when the believer is under the power of the Holy Spirit, trying his best in the light of Scripture to walk pleasing in God's sight, and he fails, God does not kick him out. Les illustrates this with a parent watching a little one take first faltering steps. When the child falls, the parent does not give him a boot; instead, the parent picks him up, gets him on his wobbly feet, and gets him going. That is what God does.
