Why is God not severe when He condemns all of Adam's descendants?
God is not severe because His grace provides a way back for every human being without their lifting a finger. Though death reigned through Adam's offense, the free gift unto justification is greater, compensating for the fall and restoring believers by God's judicial decree.
Les explains that death reigned as a king by Adam's one offense, but much more the grace of God compensates for the fall of Adam. It may seem God is severe in condemning everyone born out of Adam's race, yet He is not severe because He has made the way back for every human being without lifting a finger. This way back is justification: a judicial decree of the Almighty God Himself, so that since we believe the gospel, He can restore us back as Adam was before he fell. The free gift is of many offenses unto justification, and God's grace is greater than anything Adam did. Though we still sin, He has made compensation by His advocacy at the Father's right hand, which will come at a later time.
