Was God unfair to condemn the whole human race because of Adam's sin?

God was not unfair. Adam's sin did bring death and separation from God upon the whole human race, but this was part of God's sovereign act. Just as Adam precipitated that condemnation, Christ came to restore all that. Salvation is not automatic; it is based on choice and is free for the asking.

Les explains that while someone might say God was unfair to bring the whole human race under condemnation because of one man, the context presents this as God's sovereign act. Just as Adam precipitated death and separation from God upon the whole human race, Christ came back and restored all that. But this restoration is based on choice, not automatic; universalism is rejected. Man is now given full opportunity to choose, and salvation is free for the asking. Les notes that people may say it is too simple, but if it were one bit more difficult, others would say it is too hard. Because all are sons of Adam, this truth should not be lost sight of. Les then moves to Ephesians chapter 2, verse 1, where Paul writes to believers at Ephesus and surrounding churches.
