Les Feldick Bible Study

Why doesn't Les talk about the local church more often?

The teacher avoids mentioning the local church more because many local churches would mislead people and not feed them from the Word. He is not saying all are that way; he advised a newly converted couple to shop around and find a church that teaches the Word.

Les explains that the only reason he does not mention the local church more than he does is that there are so many local churches he would not want anyone even to try to get anything from, because they would mislead people and not feed them from the Word. He adds that he is not saying they all are that way. He recalls advising a young couple, newly converted, perhaps through his class, as they prepared to leave for Dallas. Since Dallas is huge and has hundreds of churches, he told them not just to go to whatever denomination they happened to be in, but to look around, shop, and visit, because in a city that size they were bound to find a church that preaches and teaches the Word pretty much as he does. He also says he is not taking away other ramifications of the Christian experience.
