Why does Les not push the local church?
He refrains from pushing the local church not because he opposes it, but because he must be careful not to urge people into congregations that are not true to the Book. Since faithful churches exist across various denominations, he simply tells people to look until they find one that teaches the Word as they believe it should be taught.
Les explains that his restraint is not because he is against the local church. He says he has to be so careful that people would be admonished to go and get involved in a church that is true to the Book, and many churches are not. He is not criticizing any one group in particular, because he has found good churches in various denominations. So he tells people of whatever background to simply look until they find one that teaches the Word as they feel it should be taught. He also notes an example of people who found a church, not in their denomination, that taught the Word, had fellowship, and had a passion for lost souls.
