Les Feldick Bible Study

How does a person who is justified by Christ's blood get saved from wrath?

A person justified by Christ's blood is saved from wrath through Him—not by anything they have done, but by believing in the finished work of the cross, where Christ died for sin and shed His blood so the believer is declared just as if they had never sinned.

Les explains that Romans 5:9 says, "Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." This salvation from wrath is through Him, not for anything we have done, but by simply believing in the finished work of the cross. He emphasizes that without the shedding of blood there is no remission; you cannot go around it, over it, or under it, but must face it head on. Christ died for sin, and His blood was shed so that the believer might be declared just as if he had never sinned. Les also notes that if a person is justified, they should live accordingly, because in God's eyes they are just as if they had never sinned.

Romans 5:9
