Will God give a new liver to someone saved after years of alcoholism?

The answer is no. Salvation forgives and justifies the sinner, declaring him just as if he had never sinned, but it does not reverse physical damage. A body ravaged by alcohol and cirrhosis will not suddenly receive a new liver simply because the person believes.

Les explains that the old body remains corrupt and does not suddenly become physically new. He says not to expect that a body wrecked by alcohol and cirrhosis gets a new liver just because the person has become a believer. He states that he is not going to get a new liver, though the Lord can do many things. Salvation justifies the sinner: God sees us as Adam was before he fell and declares us just as if we had never sinned. This reconciliation is the theme from cover to cover—God bringing the human being back to what he was in Adam before sin entered. Les stresses that believers are to reckon themselves just as if they had never sinned, because that is what God has declared them to be. The later psychological illustration about expectations reinforces how encouragement or negative programming affects outcomes, but it does not promise a new liver.
