Les Feldick Bible Study

If a newly saved person has cirrhosis of the liver from drinking, will God give him a new liver?

No. Salvation justifies the sinner and declares him as righteous as Adam before the fall, but it does not instantly repair the physical body. A body wrecked by alcohol and cirrhosis will remain corrupt and will not suddenly receive a new liver merely because the person believed the gospel.

Les teaches that the old body remains corrupt, and that a person should not expect that a body wrecked by alcohol and cirrhosis will suddenly receive a new liver just because he has become a believer. He says the Lord can do many things, but when a body has been ravaged by sin, salvation is justification. God sees the believer as Adam was before he fell, declares him just as if he had never sinned, and reconciles the human being back to what he was in Adam before sin entered. This is justification, not the immediate repair of the physical body.
