Why might persecution come on believers even in America?
Persecution may come because salvation does not remove believers from a fallen world, a fleshly body, or a time of trials and tribulations; God sustains rather than extracts them. As the world grows adamant and aggressive, the potential for persecution against believers exists even in America.
Les teaches that believers are not promised a rose-petaled pathway or a Garden of Eden existence after salvation. They are still in the old world, still in a body of flesh, and still living in a time of trials and tribulations. That is part of it, and God is not removing them from it; instead, He promises to see them through, escort them through valleys, and never forsake them. Les also notes that the potential for persecution coming on believers, even in America, is there because the world is getting adamant and aggressive.
