What does it mean that God preserves you blameless until the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ?
It means the God of peace sanctifies the whole person and preserves spirit, soul, and body blameless until Christ's coming. This preservation is like keeping fruit in a jar; the believer will enter eternity as a complete entity, not just a soul or spirit.
Les teaches from Paul’s writing in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 that the very God of peace sanctifies, or sets apart, the believer wholly and completely. He explains that the whole spirit, soul, and body is to be preserved blameless until the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The preservation is illustrated as being kept like fruit in a jar. Les stresses that what goes into eternity is not only the soul and not only the spirit; the believer will enter eternity as a complete entity of body, soul, and spirit. That is what the Book says.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
