Why can believers be without blame before God?
Believers are blameless before God because of what Christ has done on their behalf, not because they merit or deserve it. They have been cleansed, forgiven, and justified from all things through faith in His finished work on the cross, and this standing rests entirely on God's matchless grace.
Les explains that if believers slip and fall and the Lord should come, they are still blameless, as the Book says. Throughout Paul's writings, believers have been cleansed and forgiven and are justified from all things by virtue of their faith in the finished work of the cross. Les teaches that we should not only be set apart, but also be without blame before Him. That is possible not because we merit or deserve it, but because of what Christ has done on our behalf and because of His matchless grace. Les connects this to being in love, having been predestinated unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.
