What is the whole purpose of God giving us the Bible?
God gave Scripture to bring every person to the point of salvation, so they can escape His wrath. He has done everything possible to keep people from condemnation, providing the Word and preachers so they may understand and simply believe, accepting what God has said without working.
Les explains that God's whole purpose in giving this book is to bring us to the point of salvation, because every human being must reach that point to escape God's wrath. God has done everything He can to keep anyone from falling under condemnation, and He has made salvation available. He gave the Word and men willing to preach and teach it so people can understand that all they must do is believe—an act involving no energy, simply accepting what God has said without questions asked. When we believe, as Isaiah says, we are clothed with the garments of salvation and covered with the robe of righteousness.
