What happened to the knowledge of God after the flood?

After the flood, Noah and his sons came off the ark with a knowledge of God, but within a generation or two, mankind began to hold down that truth, standing on it and keeping it under foot, as Romans 1:18 describes. The inward knowledge of God remained in every human heart.

Les explains that when Noah and his three sons and their wives came off the ark, they had a knowledge of God. But within a generation or two, they began to do what Romans 1:18 says: they held down the truth, stood on it, and kept it under foot. Despite this suppression, God had given revelations beginning with Adam, and deep in the heart of every human being, even in the Adamic nature, is the knowledge that there is a God. People may claim to be atheists, but that is a veneer; deep down there is no such thing as an atheist. There is a nagging desire to fill a vacuum God placed in mankind. History and archeology show no tribe without some form of worship, always associated with blood sacrifice. It all goes back to how God created mankind with that knowledge of a Creator.
