Was there any religion before the Flood?

No. Before the Flood there was no idolatry, no religion of any kind, no temple worship, and no organized worship. Without any religious system to control human thinking, mankind became completely corrupt and violent. Organized pagan worship and idolatry began later, after the Flood, at the Tower of Babel.

Les teaches that before the Flood there was never an instance of idolatry, nor was there any religion of sorts, temple worship, or organized worship. Because nothing controlled man’s thinking, man went completely down the tube and became corrupt and violent. After the Flood, eight people—Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives—had a knowledge of God, yet within about 200 years, only a generation or two, the expanding population gathered around the Tower of Babel and was ready to embrace pagan worship. Nimrod, the first totalitarian despot and hunter of men, set up a religion at Babel that was intended to usurp heaven’s throne room, and that is where all pagan idolatry began.
