Is Jesus the King of the Church right now?
No, Christ is not presently the King of the Church in an experiential sense. He is seated at the right hand of God, not on a throne. Though His title is King of kings and Lord of lords, He will sit on His throne when He returns to establish His kingdom.
Les explains from Colossians 3:1 that Christ is seated at the right hand of God, not on the throne. He maintains that Jesus is therefore not the King of the Church right now. In His title, yes, He is King of kings and Lord of lords, but experientially He is not on the throne. When He returns and sets up His kingdom, He will sit on His throne. Until then, He remains seated at the right hand of the Father.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
