What accusation should a true preacher of God's grace expect?
A true preacher of God's grace should expect to be accused of teaching a Gospel that gives people license to sin, as though grace permits them to do as they please. Paul was falsely accused of this very thing. Such an accusation often confirms one is preaching the genuine Gospel of grace.
Les explains that if a person is not accused of teaching a Gospel that gives people the idea they can do as they please because they are under God's grace, they are probably not preaching the Gospel of the grace of God. Paul himself said he was falsely accused of preaching that just because God's grace is great, one can go ahead and sin as they wish. But grace is not license. Nevertheless, very few comprehend that God's grace is greater than any person's sin. Barnabas saw this grace among Gentiles who had come out of immoral idolatry, yet God saved them by His grace, and Barnabas exhorted them to cleave to the Lord with purpose of heart.
