What is God calling out today through the preaching of the Gospel of Grace?
Through the preaching of the Gospel of Grace, God is calling out the Body of Christ. Unlike Israel, which was called as a covenant people under the Gospel of the Kingdom, this present calling is primarily to the Gentiles, though not exclusively, and excludes law or legalism.
Les explains that Israel's message was the Gospel of the Kingdom, the good news that Christ was the King in their midst and was ready to fulfill all the Old Testament promises concerning Israel and His Messiahship. That message was for Jew only, with nothing in it for the Gentile. But when Israel rejected the Gospel of the Kingdom and the King and crucified Him, God turned to Saul of Tarsus, the Apostle Paul, who began to proclaim the Gospel of Grace. The Gospel of Grace means nothing of law or legalism can be associated with it, and it is primarily, not exclusively, to the Gentiles. Les teaches that now, through the preaching of the Gospel of Grace, instead of calling out a covenant people such as Israel was, God is calling out what Paul refers to as the Body of Christ. He further notes that Jesus or the Twelve never use the term "Body of Christ"; Jesus knew about it, but He never revealed it.
