Why did God set Israel aside?
God set Israel aside because she rejected her Messiah—the King and the Kingdom—along with the opportunity to evangelize the nations. This rejection brought a dispersion lasting over 1900 years, during which God turned to the Gentiles without the nation of Israel, forming the predominantly Gentile Body of Christ.
Les explains that prophecy is directed to and connected with the nation of Israel, while no prophecy associates itself with the church. The church age is a parenthetical period, Gentile in nature, slipped in between the prophetic program, and its basic doctrines come from the Apostle Paul. Since Israel rejected her Messiah, the King and the Kingdom, and the opportunity of evangelizing the nations, God set Israel aside and put her into a dispersion lasting over 1900 years. He then turned to the Gentiles completely without the nation of Israel. The Body of Christ is therefore predominantly Gentile in nature and is not associated with prophecy.
