How did Barnabas help Saul get accepted by the Jerusalem apostles?
Barnabas took Saul and brought him to the apostles, declaring how Saul had seen the Lord on the way and had preached boldly at Damascus in Jesus' name. This testimony overcame the apostles' fear and disbelief, and Saul was then with them, coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
Les explains that after three years Saul came to Jerusalem intending to join the disciples, but they were afraid and did not believe he was a disciple, suspecting he was going underground like a mole. Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles—Peter, James, John, and the rest—and declared how Saul had seen the Lord in the way and preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. As a result, Saul was with them in Jerusalem, coming in and going out, speaking boldly and disputing against the Grecians, who were non-Palestine Jews. Les notes their opposition became murderous, because religion can quickly prompt murderous attitudes.
