How did Philip get from Samaria or Jerusalem to Gaza in Acts 8?
Philip was supernaturally transported from the area around Samaria and Jerusalem down to Gaza. The angel of the Lord told him to arise and go south to the desert road from Jerusalem to Gaza, and he rose and went. This supernatural transport was directed by the angel of the Lord, and Philip obeyed immediately.
Les explains that after Philip, Peter, and John saw the Samaritans respond, they returned to Jerusalem rather than spreading out. Then Philip is supernaturally transported from the area around Samaria and Jerusalem down to Gaza. The angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, instructing him to arise and go toward the south, to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is desert. Philip rose and went. Gaza is located at the lower curve of the Mediterranean Sea, a normal trade route.
