What should I do when Satan makes me doubt whether my salvation was real?

When Satan casts doubt, open your Bible to Romans 10, verbally affirm, 'But God, You promised it,' and remind yourself you called upon Him and believed the gospel. If doubts persist, kneel and ask God to save you if you are not truly saved, then trust His response and make your calling and election sure.

Les explains that after someone has called upon the Lord, Satan will come back and cast doubt, prompting the question, 'Did anything really happen?' The remedy is to return to Romans 10 and verbally, out loud, say, 'But God, You promised it.' Faith rests on God's promise: you did what He said, called upon Him, believed the gospel, and now ask for assurance that what He said is true. Les also counsels that if you have doubts, don't go through life doubting. Drop to your knees some morning and pray, 'Lord, if I'm not truly saved, I want You to save me right now.' He recalls a lady who did this and afterward knew without doubt that she had called upon Him and He had saved her. Scripture says to make your calling and election sure, and this is one way to do it.
