Why did the preaching of the resurrection make the Sadducees angry?
The preaching of the resurrection angered the Sadducees because they denied any resurrection of the dead and any life hereafter. When Peter, John, and the other apostles proclaimed that Jesus had been raised and that believers shared a resurrection hope, it directly contradicted the Sadducees' core belief, provoking a hornet's nest.
Les explains that the Sadducees did not believe in a resurrection of the dead or in a life hereafter. They thought the only eternalness they could conceive of was passing life on to the next generation. So when Peter and the rest of the twelve kept preaching that this Jesus whom they had crucified had been raised from the dead, and proclaimed the hope of resurrection for other believers, it flew in the face of the Sadducees and caused a hornet's nest.
