How long will Christ's visible kingdom on earth last before eternity?
According to the biblical timeline, Christ's visible kingdom on earth will last one thousand years before eternity. Scripture reveals this millennial period only in Revelation, after the seven-year tribulation. It is not the eternal state but a distinct, literal thousand-year reign that precedes eternity.
Les teaches that when Christ returns and the kingdom becomes viable and visible, it would not be immediately eternal; it would last a thousand years first. He points out that nothing in Scripture indicates this thousand-year time frame until Revelation, the final revealing. Peter spoke of the kingdom promised to Abraham, but before that, Daniel's prophecy of chapter 9 required a seven-year interlude—the tribulation. Les identifies that seven-year period as the times of restitution spoken of here.
